Lucky Bitch Video Transcript – How to Create a Year’s Worth of Content for Your Blog

how-to-create-blog-contentOkay, so I’ve spoken about this before, and you might want to check out one of my other blog posts where I talk about how I create content in terms of the logistics of how I turn my videos into blogs and newsletters, but today I’m going to talk about how to create some ideas.

Now I’ve also talked about asking your list or asking people on your Facebook page, and I’m not going to cover that today.

Here’s kind of an unusual thing:

I recently had my entire year’s astro profile done. So I went with an astrologer and she came up with different themes for every month.

Then, I was like, my topic is money. I know I’m going to be talking about money and my audience is women in business. So, I only need a few little ideas per month to come up with ideas. I’m looking at my spreadsheet now. So, say for example, August for me was around creativity and around heart. And apparently my sign is in Leo in that month.

It really doesn’t mean that much to me, and I have no idea what any of that really means, but it’s given me some ideas. So if I look at my spreadsheet now and I go, “Okay, so my topic is money. My audience is women in business. What can I do around creativity and heart?

Then I brainstorm some topics in that area:

I very easily come up with maybe three to five different points for each month.

Now you think, well you might not be interested in astrology or whatever. But you can use that same process to quickly create a lot of content for your blog as well.

But you have to know your topic first:

What is it?

Not sure about your topic or your audience? Start with you…  What’s your job in you business?

Make sure you know what your topic is and then who is your audience.

Whatever it is, you want to make sure you know those two things.

Then, you can get those prompts from anywhere. I just happened to get mine from my astrologer, which sounds like such a woo-crazy-woo thing to do. You can get yours from anywhere—you can pick a word from random for that month. You can open up a book and pick the first word that comes to you. You can ask your partner to give you a word of the day. You can just turn on the TV and see what comes up.

It really doesn’t matter, but if you follow those prompts, it’s going to give you some creative space to come up with a lot of ideas very, very quickly.

And then, what can you do with that list?

Now I’ve got my massive spreadsheet for the whole year and I’ve got all of those ideas in there. So when I’ve got a little bit of time to create a video or quickly write a blog post, all I’ve got to do is go to that list and pick it out.

That’s it. It’s really, really easy.

You don’t have to come up with something fresh every time. It’s all there.

Part of being organized in your business and batching is making sure you don’t leave things to chance. You just follow a specific process and things just happen much quicker and much easier, so you can have a lot more fun and you can make a lot more money in your business.

So, I would love to hear from you in the comments.

What creative ideas have you come up with so you always have topics for your blog, for your videos, for any social media stuff that you do?

I’d love to hear your tips.

And, for everyone else, make sure you come over to because we talk about money and marketing all the time and our aim is for you to have a lot more fun and make more money in your business, too.

Have a beautiful lucky day! Bye.

  1. How funny, I use my horoscope to plan my content too! Ha! I just recently planned out 6 months of podcasts and blogs, now just to execute lol. I always recommend planning ahead and bulk producing, it saves so much time and headache, for real! When you have the time, when the inspiration comes up, just do it rather than forcing yourself!

  2. I love the idea of opening a book at random! I’ve done that for creative writing prompts but had apparently compartmentalized PR/business writing differently.
This sounds so much more fun!
I might also use my monthly tarot reading for year…

  3. Wow, what a brilliant idea!
I’m generally not that bad to come up with an idea or two for blogs BUT every now and then my inspiration is quite hard to spark. Using my horoscope sounds great, just going to my bookshelf and using that for inspiration too. I’ll combine that with what I already do – going out into the streets and letting the Universe guide my attention do whatever wants to be written about (last week it was about a business lesson from a sparrow 🙂 ).

  4. You gave me an idea. We have an energy calendar for the entire year that has a keyword for the month. I can use the keyword for the month as inspiration for blog post topics for the entire year. The new calendar comes out in September, so I’ll be ready to go very soon!
